Family History

When the O’Bryan family founded the 太阳城最新网址 in 1906, the town boasted six buggy makers, five wagon manufacturers, a wagon wheel factory and a dozen blacksmiths. Over the next 30 years the company continued to increase its manufacturing of white corn, yellow corn, and wheat to local distillers and mills.

Then, in 1940, the company expanded to include soybean processing. Today, the buggy makers have been replaced by electronics manufacturers, but Owensboro Grain remains as a thriving privately-held business whose roots are still tied closely to the soil.

As successful soybean processors and grain merchandisers, we have carried on a long family tradition of combining hard work and technology to produce dependable, quality products that deliver the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

In January 2014, the fourth generation continued this tradition by first commissioning a Prime Power CHP (Combined Heat and Power) CoGen facility to produce 100 percent of the power needs for our plant.

Following that, they commissioned a 36 million pound-per-year glycerin refinery to further our objective of producing quality, value-added products. The plant converts the crude glycerin produced in the Biodiesel facility into USP Pharmaceutical grade refined glycerin.
